Overview

The Aleph Institute is seeking a Finance Assistant to support our finance department with various responsibilities, including processing payments, updating financial records, managing invoices, and working with outside vendors. This individual will also be responsible for the tracking and inputting of incoming contributions to the organization in our CRM system. The Finance Assistant will work across the organization with various departments, and will report directly to our Chief Finance Officer. To be successful as a Finance Assistant, one should be detail-oriented, have excellent organizational skills, and a desire to learn. This is a full-time, Miami-based, and in-office position.

 

Responsibilities Include:

Processing of financial statements
Create, submit, and follow up on invoices and payments through our purchase request system
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements in conjunction with the CFO
Assist in monthly bank reconciliations
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Track and input pledge and contribution information to our donor CRM system
Follow up with donors on pledges made to the organization
Assist with financial assistance applications as needed
Additional duties as necessary, such as decision-making on contracts for the organization, etc.
Requirements and Skills:

Prior experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role preferred
Some knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Experience working with non-profit organizations preferred
A can-do and positive attitude
Collaborative and works well with others
Strong initiative to get the job done

Salary range: $60,000 – $80,000 DOE
